Abstract

The work of reflection that is exposed is the narration of how after training as an English teacher and after working for several years as such, I became a technical translator without having the specific training or knowledge in the industrial sphere. It is about how I managed to acquire the required skills and knowledge that allowed me to perform and be accepted as such. I reflect on the strategies that I applied, and my concepts and ideas, from which suggestions emerge when working as a translator and interpreter. This was the result of more than 35 years of work as a translator, from the experiences and conclusions I reached, compiled in personal notes.
