The present study allowed us to analyze the relationship between the organizational climate and work performance in an Ecuadorian public company. The main objective was to determine how the organizational climate influences the work performance of officials of an Ecuadorian public company. A non-experimental, cross-sectional and mixed approach research design was used. Quantitative data was collected through a questionnaire applied to 17 officials and qualitative data through in-depth interviews and focus groups. The results obtained showed a clear positive relationship between the organizational climate and work performance in the officials of the EP-MAPA-CCH. Officials who perceive a favorable organizational climate, characterized by participatory leadership, effective communication, development opportunities and an environment of trust and respect, tend to present a higher level of performance, commitment and job satisfaction. The findings of this research support the importance of education to create a positive organizational climate to improve job performance in public companies. This study contributed to existing knowledge about the organizational environment and work performance in the Ecuadorian public sector, providing evidence of the importance of factors such as leadership, communication, training, and professional development.
