Training in Economics in the Municipality of San Nicolás, Province of Mayabeque,Cuba

Abstract

In the period 2014-2016, in one of the three classrooms authorized to teach the Accounting and Finance course in the municipality of San Nicolás, province of Mayabeque, 88 students were enrolled, a situation that led the authors to socialize the impact of the apprehension of economic culture. The initial diagnosis showed that 92.0% of those enrolled had a poor economic culture. The group was composed of professors, students and public administration officials. The training included 9 modules. In the case of the students, the theory-practice bond was contributed, to promote a better understanding of the pre-professional practice and its usefulness in the training of the economics professional. The final diagnosis illustrated that 83.0% of those enrolled possessed an acceptable economic culture. It is concluded that the training was fruitful, to achieve changes in the modes of action of the students, which is demonstrated in the results achieved by them, both in the systematic participation in class and in the final exam. The aforementioned results must result in a better performance of their functions.
