Perception about the Current Teaching of English in the Public Schools of Esmeraldas

Abstract

The reflection presented analyzes three current situations and the perceived impact on teaching English in the Esmeraldas public schools. The impact of teaching is related to the reduction from 5 to 3 hours per week due to the change in the curriculum in the 2023 - 2024 Coastal Cycle school year, as well as the lack of official guidelines from the Ministry of Education and the lack of training for teachers on the handling of the text concerning the decrease in class time in the subject's curriculum.
